Backlinks for increasing web presence?

I have been working with a directory submitter tool the last few days to help boost a few of my lesser known domains, this one included. Using Google before I started this administer, I had very few backlinks, and I will check again in a few months to see if that has improved.

Gaining backlinks from any website (no matter how low Google PR) will increase the Google PR of this domain itself, but it is only one of several hundred factors that influence your rankings in the search engines.

This would also help in the SERP rankings, but I have not focused on bringing in search engine traffic, rather to have users have a fascinating site with excellent and fascinating content.

Now, everyone agrees (in the “blogosphere”) that writing excellent and unique content is the way to gain readers and visibility, and I find it hard to disagree. But, getting the initial visitors to come by is also a part of the administer.

The tool I’ve used is the digiXMAS Submitter and I have been working on a review of that tool which I will release in a week or two when I am finished.

In the interest of leak, I can tell that I never bought this domain to earn money, but to have an outlet to share my experiences with the web 2.0, and hopefully gain knowledge back the other way through you, the visitors.

I know how you feel. I shyed away from directory submissions a while back. Althought I knew thre was software out here that would help me do it nearly automatically.

Here are several people that offer directory submissions online for very low prices, such as 100 directories for $10 and so forth. But I am not quite sure what kind of quality you get from those p people.

I will end the review, and hopefully you can get a better thought about it from that.

Thank you for leaving a comment :-)

I’ve just been using it + its incredible – can’t believe its free!!!

it really seems to do what it says it will do! my inbox is overflowing with ‘thank you for your submission’ answers, so it seems to be working

slight prob i can see is that the list of directories to submit to doesn’t start until Linksonlines… i really can’t imagine that here are no directories before the letter ‘L’!

i can’t find a support email to question digixmas

so if you find a way of starting the list at the beginning i’d like to know

thanks

Kathryn, what you are using is the Free Package:

Free package: As free service, you can submit your sites to 150 directories with lower Google PR in Shinkansen mode, plus free submission to all directories in Truck mode, including directories in your own lists.

If you want to be able to submit it to the total directory list (both semi-automated and the Manual Mode) you need to pay. $10 per site you want to promote, and if you buy one of the larger packages, you can get it for as small as $7 per site for 10 sites, and $5 per site if you buy for 20 sites). Take a look here:
