How to sell your skills online

small business accounting software

I start learning videos like the one above (1 hour to make) to teach subjects like accounting and business management to people using my low cost replacement for small business accounting software such as Quickbooks or PeachTree. I am going to walk you through a very straight forward method that will show you how to turn your knowledge into valuable content and sell it through the internet to a planet wide audience. The best deal with is to direct your efforts into making your own product as when you sell it all of the proceeds or profits are going to be yours to keep.

Ok lets get started I am going to assume you have heard of podcasts, iTunes and YouTube, these and online video are central to the deal with I going to share with you. I am sometimes amazed at how well my target market of small business owners answer to the small business accounting software tutorials I regularly sell and distribute.

OK, step one you need to start a storyboard for your content, by storyboard I mean a plot of what knowledge you are going to share with your audience. The simplest and the simplest way to start a useful and simple to refine storyboard is to use Microsoft powerpoint or Apple Keynote as you can use the material you start on your slides in your video. Before embarking on this exercise you should have in mind my motto, which is get a rope diagonally the river and don’t spend any money doing it and the excellent news is that this is entirely possible as I will exhibit in a moment.

My favourite tool for producing videos for viewing on YouTube or downloading as a podcast, Quicktime movie or Windows Media Player format is Camtasia studio from TechSmith, they provide a load of really excellent tutorials that will teach and inspire you on how to make excellent videos (no matter what you do watch all of these first and DO NOT download the trial yet). My sound advice is to get your storyboard completed and watch all of the Camtasia Studio tutorials befor downloading the thirty day free trial as you want to make best use of this time to build your confidence and get your video to market.

OK this was a brief overview of what tools you have to have to hand and get to grips with and in the next lesson which hopefully will be published on this blog in the next few days (owners permitting) I will go through a detailed description of how I start my small business accounting software videos.
